Did you know that you can buy tickets and transfer them? You sure can. There are lots of reasons why you might want to do this. Let’s talk through some scenarios.

Transfer Raffle Tickets – Scenarios

Why would you want or need to transfer raffle tickets? We’ve had several people tell us why they want to transfer tickets. Here are a few:

• Buying tickets to to give to family or friends as gifts.
• Buying tickets for friends who do not have access to the internet.
• Buying tickets for friends who do not like to buy things online.
• Buying tickets and gifting them to charity.
• Businesses buy tickets as gifts to their employees and customers.
• Businesses buy tickets as incentives for doing business with them.

Transfer Raffle Tickets – How-To

Transfering Tickets is easy. Simply buy the Raffle Tickets online and complete the Ticket Transfer Form. Ticket transfers can take up to 2 weeks to be approved and processed. Be sure to have your form completed and submitted by June 16th.

Winners in the 7th & 8th Early Drawing 

The Pikes Peak Rotary Club has been working with the Colorado Secretary of State to bring the house raffle to a close. Some tickets were never entered into a drawing, and therefore did not have a chance to win something. We have two resolutions for ticket buyers.

We contacted ticket buyers who purchased tickets after June 2 to let them know they are eligible for a refund. The deadline to request the refund is September 20, 2010.

All ticket buyers who purchased before June 2, 2010 were entered into a final drawing. We held early drawings #7 & #8 following the raffle rules with the following exception: 1) the ticket minimums have been waived; 2) the date of the drawing was moved to August 20, 2010.

You can win more than once on a single ticket, as Kimberly Millers well knows. She won $1,000 in the 6th early drawing after winning 1st place in the 2nd early drawing! Mary Barrowman, CEO of Prospect Home Care and Hospice, was at the drawing and announced the winners. 

Prospect Home Care and Hospice is one of the sponsored charities of the raffle. Mary introduced us to the wide variaty of services Prospect HCH provides to the mountain community in Teller County. In addition to hospice care, Prospect HCH provides in home care, pediatrics and palliative care for patients and families in all stages of life, from birth to end of life.

TESSA Advocate Jennifer Parker

A portion of the house raffle proceeds benefit TESSA, a regional domestic violence advocacy group. Jessica Parker, an advocate and therapist, talked about the various services TESSA offers to Teller County, the county where the Grand Prize house is located. Domestic violence hurts not only individuals, but families and entire communities as well. TESSA is proud to provide intervention and education to the area.

The newly elected Mayor of Divide, Spright the pitbull mix, made her first public appearance at the 4th early cash prize drawing for the Million Dollar House Raffle. She is joined by Lisa Berg, her owner, and the Board President of Teller County Regional Animal Shelter (TCRAS), Kellie Case, to announce the winners of the $10,000 early cash prizes. 

Spright was recently elected Mayor in a TCRAS fundraiser. When Spright first came to the shelter she had a bad front let that needed to be amputated. She was adopted last fall. Spright shared the spotlight with Kellie Case who shared the vision of TCRAS with the audience and their plans to use raffle proceeds for their building fund. Raffle Prizes – 7 Cash Prize Winners at Grand Prize Drawing

So, what do you get if your ticket is picked at 2nd place? You will only get $93,275 dollars to add to your checking account!!! That’s more than I make in a year! Third place? Well, you get a measly $79,950  dollars and that is still more than I make in a year! Check out the schedule of prizes being awarded at the grand prize drawing (you will be amazed). If we reach maximum ticket sales then $373,100 cash will be awarded in addition to the house. Raffle Prizes – Cash Awards at 8 Early Drawings

You’ve heard of early bird specials? Well, we have early bird ticket cash drawings. The earlier you buy a ticket, the more drawings you are in. It’s that simple. There are eight early cash drawings all leading up to the grand prize drawing. A little more incentive never hurt anybody, did it? We  had one early drawing in February, two early cash drawings in the months of March(one has been awarded and one takes place this Friday, the 26th), April, May and a final early drawing in June. If you think eight drawings is great, consider this: there are 4 cash prizes awarded at each early drawing! All total, there is $60,000 up for grabs in these early cash drawings.

Ok, so let’s do the math…eight early drawings times four prizes at each drawing is 32 chances to win cash….8 people have already won so that means we have 24 chances left for you to win! Be an early bird:  get a ticket.

Raffle Prizes – Win More-Refer

Call us crazy, seriously, call us crazy! We have even more ways for you to win some cash. How about some cash prizes for referring your friends and family to the raffle? Yep, we’ve got that, too. Actually, there are two referral drawings.

1. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three people who refer the most ticket sales. Let’s say 3 of your friends buy 10 tickets between them. Well then, you are credited with 10 ticket sales. Refer the most ticket sales and win some cash. There’s $3,500 up for grabs here.

2. The second referral contest if a bit more random. For every ticket purchased due to your referral, your name gets put into the referral drawing. If your friends purchase 10 tickets, you are entered 10 times into the referral drawing. Three lucky people will win in this purely random referral drawing. Crazy, right? How much cash are we talking? $13,000!!!  That’s split among three lucky winners.

Raffle Prizes – The Winning Odds

So, what are the odds of winning? Great question. The odds of winning totally depend on the number of tickets sold. Your chances are 1 in the number of tickets sold. Let’s run some scenarios.

If 18,000 tickets are sold – which is the number required to give away the Grand Prize house – then your chances of winning the house are 1 in 18,000. But, there are also 7 cash prizes being awarded at the grand prize drawing. So, if 18,000 tickets are sold, you have 8 in 18,000 chances of winning something (or otherwise stated – 1 in 2,250).

In the first early cash drawing let’s say 500 tickets are sold. In this case chances are 1 in 500. But wait, there are 4 cash prizes being awarded. So that means your chances are 4 in 500 (or otherwise stated 1 in 125).
